On the streets, at our Boston Living Center, and across programs, we work to prevent chronic conditions and overdoses. We provide HIV, Hepatitis C, and STI testing and counseling; a healthy meals program; syringe and naloxone distribution; and an array of education, navigation, and support services. After completion of Phase 1, clients work with their counselors to explore part-time or full-time employment opportunities or some structured time that fits their abilities. Clients continue to attend group meetings and individualized treatment in the evening. New Life House is a sober home only and we do not provide addiction services or addiction treatment of any kind.

That’s why we encourage our clients to consider staying 6 months to one year. Upon arriving at a sober-living house from rehab or detox, a woman can expect a safe and supportive environment that promotes long-term sobriety. The house managers will assist in helping her settle in and become familiar with the house rules and daily routine. She will receive help and support from those knowledgeable about addiction and recovery. At New Life House, you can expect to meet other male residents who are committed to their sobriety, have completed some form of primary treatment, and pass regular unannounced breathalyzer and urine tests.
At New Life House, we take a custom approach to each client, starting with a full understanding of each client’s needs and goals. Our team connects with each client’s clinical providers to help understand what supports are needed before he arrives at Tharros. We support clients as they ease their way back into life by giving them support in navigating day to day living, while maintaining a foundation of structure that guides them as they begin to build a new life for themselves.

Coolidge House serves as a Comprehensive Sanction Center for male and female offenders from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal District Courts, and Federal Probation. Coolidge House also reserves 4 beds for the SPAN program, which Oxford House serves newly released state and county offenders awaiting placement in transitional or permanent housing. New Life House is a private peer program which is not affiliated with any state or federal offerings.
